PERRY BLACK - Senior Pastor
Senior Pastor and Founder of Family Church, Perry Black has a reason to reach the youth of America. From the earliest days of his childhood, he learned the need for a positive outlook and purposeful living. His family spent much of his early childhood in Jonesboro, where he learned to work and help out around the farm.
The middle child of five siblings, Perry learned the value of wisdom and understanding. At the age of 6, his family became foster parents and the first infant they received was born on his birthday. At the age of 14, his mom took a position as a houseparent at the Methodist Children’s Home where he lived with 105 other children from 1965 to 1969. He saw first hand the sorrow facing a child from an abusive home and the hope that comes from a caring home.
A successful businessman and motivational speaker, Perry has spoken to more than 1 million students, urging them to reach for their full potential, and explaining that they are “Destined to Win.” In his effort to reach as many young people as possible, he founded Second Chance Ranch, a place where children, teens and their families can receive the help they need to reconstruct their lives and rebuild their homes.
